Today is the last day of Ramadan, and tomorrow or the day after tomorrow Muslims all over the world will celebrate Eid al-Fitri. Regardless of who you are, young or old, rich or poor, public figure or just public at large, Eid al-Fitri is one of the best moments in the lives of every Muslim. Wonder why?
It is because prior to celebrating Eid al-Fitri, Muslims must fast for the whole month of Ramadan. We cannot eat, drink and do other things that will nullify our fast, from dawn to dusk every day for 29 or 30 straight days. On top of that, we will wake up in the wee hour, around 4 am or earlier than that to pray, to recite the Quran and to eat the pre-dawn meal (sahur), etc.
To some or may be to most of us these activities are very challenging, but regardless of what the challenges are, just like Nike’s motto, we “Just Do It”, and this is why the Eid al-Fitri celebration is so meaningful, wonderful and so satisfying to Muslims all over the world, we celebrate our victory and success after enduring the 29 to 30-day challenges of fasting.
The harder we work to achieve our dreams and goals, the more sacrifices that we make along the way and the greater the challenges that we face along the journey, the more satisfying it will be for us to finally achieve our goals.
This is the main role of challenges in our success. It will make our success more meaningful and satisfying. Furthermore success that comes after hard work, pain, sweat, tears, sacrifices and challenges will last longer than success without these elements.
The same principle applies in all areas of success, be it in sports, entertainment, politics, business, personal, relationships and the like. If we want to feel the pleasure of achieving our goals and dreams in life at the same time to ensure that they will last “forever”, these elements or ingredients of success must exist throughout the journey – hard work, pain, sweat, tears, sacrifices and challenges.
Therefore, if you are facing a lot of challenges today in pursuing your dreams and goals, keep moving forward and be happy, because if you persevere to make your dreams come true, you are on the right track and your success is going to be very sweet, satisfying and lasting, and may be it is just around the corner.
